Crash driver ‘suffered a medical episode’

A DRIVER in the crash on the Brighton Road this lunchtime is believed to have suffered ‘a medical episode’ prior to the collision.

Sussex Police say one driver in the two-vehicle collision was taken to Worthing Hospital for treatment. The other driver suffered whiplash.

A car and van collided on the A259 by Shoreham lighthouse around midday and the road is now closed while Sussex Police deal with the incident.

Sussex Police said: “Emergency services were called to a report of a two-vehicle collision on the A259 Brighton Road, Shoreham, near the Kingston Beach lighthouse, at 12.10pm.

“The road is currently closed eastboound from the Kingston Lane junction and westbound from Eastern Avenue, near McDonalds.”
