Sessions will also be held in Lancing on Wednesdays, at the Parish Hall, in South Street, from 12.30pm to 2pm, and the Family Centre, in Upper Boundstone Lane, from 5.30pm to 7pm.

Programme leader Katie Daley, fitness co-ordinator for Impulse Leisure, said: “If you’re looking to lose weight, sometimes the gym environment can be off-putting, or even scary.

“These locally-run courses are designed to give participants the tools and information, plus the confidence to succeed, lose weight and continue with a healthier lifestyle once the course has finished.”

The eight-week course for adults is designed to set people on the road to losing weight, toning up and getting fitter.

Sessions will include nutritional advice designed around a health topic, followed by a light, fun exercise session to music.

There will be weekly weigh-ins and body measurements will be tracked, to help measure progress. The costs is £16. Contact Katie Daley on 01903 524624 or email [email protected]
