The councils and Albion in the Community (AITC) will work with NHS West Sussex in providing new well-being hubs, which will work alongside the charity’s health department and local GPs to increase awareness of the early signs of cancer and encourage people with them to seek help and visit their GP.
It will primarily target men and women over 50 in communities where awareness levels and survival rates are particularly low. Early death rates from cancers in Adur and Worthing are higher than the England average.
