Council services in Worthing and Adur affected by snow

Refuse and recycling are cancelled although the councils are attempting to get rubbish collected from flats to keep them clear.

Trade and clinical waste collections will go ahead, although the services are experiencing problems.

Other council staff are out clearing shop fronts and walkways.

A Worthing Borough Council spokeswoman said: “It looks like at this stage we will have to leave the refuse that has been missed until next week, obviously we will try to clear everything that is out.”

The council said it would also be trying to catch up on collecting recycling. This is subject to the weather conditions improving and looking at the forecast this doesn’t look like its going to happen before tomorrow (Friday) night and over the weekend.”

All services at Worthing Crematorium are postponed today (Thursday) and will be rescheduled as soon as weather permits. Families are asked to contact their funeral directors for more information.
