Wilbos Restaurants will hold a consultation on July 19 and 20, presenting two new designs, featuring a cafe and landscaping.

It follows a tepid reception from residents to the developers’ plans to revamp the entire green, paraded earlier in the year.

Marine ward councillor Joss Loader said: “This is a great chance for people to talk directly to the developer and his architect and to shape the future of the only major open green space on Shoreham Beach.

“This site is highly visible and Shoreham Beach Residents’ Association is urging everybody to have a look and to voice their opinions both to us and to Adur District Council.

“SBRA doesn’t have a formal view at the moment as we want to know what everybody thinks.

“We are still emphatic that most of the green should remain as a grassed open area – and that beach huts should not be removed.”

Refreshments will be provided at the event.
