Mr Nowlan said: “St Barnabas House is a special charity to many of us and we are extremely proud to have been able to raise so much money throughout 2013 for a fantastic cause.

“Many of the members at the club know someone who has been cared for by St Barnabas House and that makes the donation all the more special.”

The club held various events and involved members in many activities to raise the money, including a lottery bonus ball game, raffles, music nights and donations taken at their club bar.

Neil Francis, community fundraising manager for St Barnabas House, said: “The hospice relies heavily on community donations and support from groups like the Shoreham Conservative Club, so this wonderful amount really emphasises how local people can make a huge collective difference.”
