“She is very helpful and nothing is too much trouble for her.”

Hannah, 30, opened the pet supplies store five years ago.

She said: “I just love animals and want the best for them. That’s what’s important to me; its not about making money by selling a customer something that won’t benefit their pet.

“I started my own pet shop after working in other pet supplies stores for 12 years, because, to me, many others see it as a lucrative business rather than doing the job because they care passionately about animals.”

Hannah, of Cedar Avenue, added: “I’m incredibly surprised to have been nominated for an award.

“It’s lovely to have some recognition, because I always try to do the best by my customers and am so grateful for their ongoing support.”

Voting in the 2010 Community Stars Awards begins on Thursday, October 14, when the first voting form is published as part of the Herald and Gazette series 16-page awards special.
