COMMUNITY STARS: Rustington doctor is nominated

MUCH-PRAISED doctor Charles Shlosberg has already received four nominations in the Herald and Gazette’s Community Stars Awards.

Dr Shlosberg is one of dozens of people nominated in the many categories of our awards – but we still need more.

Mervyn Short, Sarah Rowlands, Catherine Purton and Paul and Sally Sloan have all nominated Dr Shlosberg, who works at The Lawns surgery, in Glenville Road, Rustington, in our Health Heroes category.

Mr Short said: “As a patient of Dr Shlosberg, I feel privileged to receive such personal, reliable and outstanding care from him.”

Sarah Rowlands said: “He is a wonderful, caring doctor. My step-father (Paul Sloan) is terminally ill and Dr Sholsberg comes round in the evenings to check on him without being asked. He will also ring to see if my mum, Sally, is ok. He really goes above and beyond. He is a first-class doctor.”

Brilliant

Paul and Sally Sloan described Dr Shlosberg as “exceptional” adding: “We don’t know what we would do without him.”

Sally added: “I don’t think I’d be here without him. He does things there and then, he doesn’t mess around. He’s absolutely brilliant.”

Catherine Purton said: “He works beyond the call of duty. His house calls can be as late as 8pm at night. He really is brilliant.”

Dr Shlosberg has worked at the surgery since 2003, having worked as a GP in Arun since 1995.

He said: “We are a small practice with a very dedicated team of staff. We always try to give our patients the service we would want ourselves from a general practice.

“I am delighted to have been nominated for this award and am grateful to those patients who have kindly shown their appreciation in this way.”
