SHOREHAM and Southwick Rotary Club has presented cheques to two worthy causes that provide ‘valuable work in the community’.
Friends of Shoreham Fort and Emmaus, based in Southwick, have both received funds from the rotary club.
A spokesperson for the club said: “Thanks to our many fundraising activities we were able to help two local charities with cheques to help them with their valuable work in the community.”
Now in its 18th year there, Emmaus supports the homeless through its new charity shop at Station Road, Southwick.
The profits help run a home located in Portslade that provides food and respite.
Funds were also presented to Shoreham Fort to help towards their programme of events for the year.
The spokesperson said: “It will also help their ongoing plans to make the Fort even more an attractive, accessible, historic asset to local people and visitors from near and far, with its wonderful restored details showing how life was in the defences of our country.”
