Care homes on agenda for West Sussex committee

Councillors are set to discuss care homes and the care of vulnerable people in West Sussex.

West Sussex County Council’s Health and Adult Social Care Select Committee will meet on October 1, to address issues about care home provision in the county.

The meeting will also hear what is being done to keep vulnerable adults safe from harm and abuse in West Sussex.

Margaret Evans, chairman of the committee said: “Helping everyone in West Sussex to live long, active, independent and healthy lives whatever their circumstances is a key priority for the county council.

“It is important for this committee to look in depth at capacity in the care home market and make sure any gaps are being addressed.

“We are also keen to hear about what processes are in place and measures taken to keep vulnerable adults safe from harm and abuse in West Sussex.”

The meeting starts at 10.30am at County Hall in Chichester on Thursday, October 1.
