The popular jewellers has a rich history in the town, which began as a shop in Montague Street in 1909, and has now expanded to include two shops in Worthing and two in Chichester alongside a stand-alone Pandora concept store there.

And such is its popularity, a new Pandora shop in Worthing is now being planned.

“We strive to give a phenomenal experience to customers and we are able to provide a professional service and give good information about the products,” he said.

“We provide a service that people respect and admire and that is why we have been here for so long. That is basically the secret.”

The business was started when Jonathan’s great-great grand-dad George, a jeweller and street trader in North London, sent his son, George ‘Harry’ Pressley, to Worthing to apply for a job in a jewellers.

His father had given him the five shilling fare from his home, telling Harry to ask for the return fare if he was not given the job.

Jonathan said: “He had the gift of the gab. Worthing at the time was very wealthy and was the place to go.

“He got the job and one thing led to another, and he eventually opened his own shop.”
