Worthing FC, in Woodside Road, has signed up over 40 businesses to its 100 Club, which offers the chance for firms to win £5,000-worth of advertising space at the ground for just £250.

Lucky winners of a prize draw, carried out at a launch event on Saturday, July 26, could become the main kit, player or stand sponsor.

Managing director of Arundel-based Gaugemaster Controls Ian Fowler said: “With growing disconnect between the superstars that exist at the higher levels of football and the average person in the street, we’re delighted to support our local team, knowing that we are actually helping a club at the very heart of its local community.

“The package reaches the people we want to reach and offers astounding value, with an added bonus of securing a sponsorship far in excess of what we are paying for with the general sponsorship draw.”

A £250 sponsorship package includes a pitch-side banner, a directory listing in each programme and a website entry, among other benefits.

Club commercial manager Paul Kelleway said: “Being part of the 100 Club means you’re not only getting fantastic value for money but you will also be making a valuable contribution to local community football development.

“Our aim is to make Worthing FC a great place to come and watch football and a firm’s sponsorship money enables us to achieve that.”

The cut-off date to be entered into the draw is Saturday, July 26, before the club’s first pre-season game at Woodside Road.

Businesses are also offered two free tickets each for the game against Croydon and the draw will take place at half-time, from 1pm.

Shirt sponsorship will be offered for the first team and the club’s under 21s and under 18s.
