British legion member '˜joins' lifeboat crew for day

MEMBERS of Southwick Green Royal British Legion learned about life as a lifeboatman.

Andy and Paula Morgan from Shoreham RNLI visited the branch last Monday to give a talk about the charity.

Committee member Nigel Pulling agreed to dress up in the outfit worn by lifeboat crew.

Branch secretary Patricia Downes said: “They gave a very interesting talk at our branch meeting on all aspects of their work.

“It was a lovely evening enjoyed by all.”

The branch meets on the third Monday of every month at Southwick Community Centre, in Southwick Street, Southwick.

The annual Southwick Green Remembrance Parade will take place on November 10.

The parade sets off at 10.30am from Southwick Square car park.

It will head to the War Memorial on Southwick Green and the service will start at 11am.
