Breaking news: Man struck by a train at Worthing railway station

Air amublance and Police have been called to Worthing railway station where a man has been struck by a train.

Emergency services were quickly at the incident, which happened just before 10am this morning (Monday, December 24).

The man, who is believed to be in his 60s is being treated at the scene. He received treatment from paramedics and is expected to be air lifted to hospital and train service have been delayed as a result.

A British Transport Police (BTP) spokesman said: “BTP officers were called to Worthing rail station on Monday, 24 December following a report of a man being struck by a train.

“Officers from BTP and Sussex Police attended the incident, which was reported to police at 9.57am and is currently being treated as non-suspicious.

“Medics from the South East Coast Ambulance Service also attended and the man is currently receiving medical attention at the scene.”
