THE eastbound carriageway of the A27 at Crossbush near Arundel has been closed this morning after a crash.
Police anticipate that in the next few minutes the westbound carriageway will also be closed to allow the Sussex Air Ambulance to land.
It comes after a motorcyclist was involved in a collision with a car on the road at about 10.20am today (Wednesday, May 13).
A spokesman for Sussex Police said: “It does not appear the rider has suffered life-threatening or life-changing injuries.”
Traffic was diverted south, down the A284 Lyminster Road.
The crash followed a similar incident near Bognor Regis earlier today, involving a car and Honda motorcycle.
That collision took place at about 8.11am at Virginia Gardens, in Felpham, close to the junction of the A259 Flansham Lane.
A police spokesman added: “The motorcyclist was thrown from the machine and suffered potentially serious pelvic injuries.”
The road was closed for about two hours.
It is unclear at this time where the motorcyclist was taken to hospital.
