Attackers cut-off horses' tails at Shoreham stables

A family-run Shoreham stables has been left devastated after unknown attackers cut-off their horses's tails in a bizarre late night raid.

The horses at Buddy’s Yard, a five acre stables on Steyning road, were attacked sometime between 8pm and 10pm on Friday, January 31.

Five of the horses had their tails cut off while another had its mane cut the attack.

The attack has left both the family and owners of the horses shaken.

Phil Lee who owns the stables said, “Its like if somebody cut the hair off your young child

“It was definitely a malicious attack, whoever did it went into the stables to get the first two and then went up into the other fields in the dark to make sure they got the others as well.”

A £1,500 reward has been offered for anyone with any information on the attacks, which leads to arrest and prosecution.

Anyone with any information is asked to call police on 101.

An RSPCA spokesman said it was too early to tell if they would call for prosecuting the attackers.

They asked anyone with concerns for an animal’s welfare to call 03001234999.
