Arts festival starts soon

It will be opened on Saturday morning by the Revd Ivor Mann and a service of dedication will be conducted by Methodist church minister Revd Keith Edwards at 10.30am on Sunday.

The festival will be open every day between 10am and 5.30pm, except on Sunday when it will be open from noon to 2pm.

The annual event was started by local artist Mollie Harvey, and has been carried on since her death in 1999.

It has provided an opportunity for artists and craftsmen to display their talents and also raises around 1,000 every year for church maintenance funds.

Committee chairman Alan Barry said: "We are delighted to be able to continue Mollie's work in providing an outlet for local artists and at the same time raise money for worthy causes.
