The annual trail, which takes place from May 31 to June 15, is a fun and social event organised by adurArtcollective across the district.

Secretary Chris Howitt said: “We may still be in the depths of wet and windy January but the thoughts of adurArtcollective are already turning to the beginning of June.

“There are currently more than 90 members in adurArtcollective and very many of them will be exhibiting in Adur Art Trail this year.”

She and vice-chair Kim Adele Fuller are particularly appealing to residents and businesses in central Shoreham to join the trail by offering a suitable space for one or more of the artists.

Mrs Howitt said the trail attracted visitors to the shops and businesses, so she hoped they could help out.

The trail has grown so much since it began, there are now more artists than venues.

The space could be in business premises, a house, garden, or even outbuildings, and it would need to be available for the three weekends, May 31 to June 1, June 7 to 8, and June 14 to 15, from 10am to 5pm.

Mrs Howitt said: “Participating venues will be identified by publicity material, supplied by adurArtcollective, and will be advertised on the Art Trail map and the website.

“The exhibiting artists will be responsible for supervising the exhibition space in consultation with the owners and any sales will generate 15 per cent commission to the venue.”
