AN apprenticeship scheme launched in Shoreham last year has proved so successful, more are to be recruited.

Sussex Academy of Music (SAM), based at Riverside Business Centre, is looking to recruit a further two apprentices, in administration roles.

Director Rob Biss said: “We recruited our first apprentice just before Christmas, and were so impressed that we are now looking for two more.

“It has proven to be a fantastic way of recruiting young and dynamic new members of staff into the business.”

SAM provides one-to-one music lessons to children and adults, as well as numerous schools.

The one-year, full-time apprenticeship will result in a NVQ level three qualification through Chichester College, with an offer of full-time employment at SAM expected at the end.

A spokesman for Chichester College said: “We are delighted to be working with Sussex Academy of Music and look forward to working in partnership to train their apprentices in customer service and business administration.

“Chichester College trains more than 1,000 apprentices a year across the south east, with a growing number in Worthing and Brighton, as more and more businesses are realising the value of recruiting young people through apprenticeships.”
