She put her piano playing and drama skills to the test in front of festival judges at Brighton and Hove High School.

Afterwards, Anna said: “I really enjoy my piano and drama lessons, so my success at the Springboard performing arts festival has made me very happy.”

In the speech and drama classes, Anna won first prize in the acted duologues class, having performed with a friend. She gained a distinction and was awarded the Festival Medal.

She also entered the acted solo scene and solo speaking verse and came third in both classes.

In the piano classes, Anna was placed first in two classes for grades four and five – solo competitive and memory competitive – and was graded outstanding in both.

Marketing executive Jacqui Hobson said Shoreham College wished Anna continued success.

“What a talented and hard-working young lady she is, a real credit to Shoreham College,” she added.

The Springboard festival provides a unique platform for music and drama students to perform in a friendly and encouraging environment.
