Afternoon cream tea marks VE Day

PENSIONERS are invited to celebrate VE Day in style, with an afternoon cream tea.

Vera’s Travelling Teas is hosting the event at Courtfields, Elm Grove, Lancing, tomorrow from 1pm to 4pm.

Organiser Theresa Carey said the tearoom is set-up in 1940s/50s style, including vinyl records played on an old record player, memorabilia and a collection of books and newspapers.

Tickets are £5, available from Theresa on 01903 754862 or Julie 01903 765459.

The pop-up tearoom will be taking part in the Adur Festival this year, with events in Lancing and Shoreham.

Vintage-style teas will be on offer for £4.95 at Lancing Village Action, in North Street, Lancing, on Friday, June 12, from 10am to 1.30pm.

Vera’s Travelling Teas will also be at the Old School House, Ham Road, Shoreham, on May 31, June 7 and 14, from 11am to 4pm each day.

A programme error meant the wrong location was printed in the April 23 edition of the Shoreham Herald.
