The festival culminates in a trio of Food Of Love themed street parties in Shoreham, Lancing, and Southwick on Saturday, June 13, but before then, there is plenty to get your teeth stuck into.

The programme is jam-packed with brilliant events suitable for all ages. The festival officially begins on Saturday, but if you cannot wait that long, there are creative workshops at Sompting Big Local Hub today, 1pm to 5pm, and tomorrow, 10am to 3pm, where you can build some carnival creations for the Lancing Street Party.

The workshops, which are free and family friendly, are being rub by Hanna Boal of Hands On Workshops, who is organising an Alice in Wonderland Tea Party at the street party.

Several ongoing events begin this weekend, such as the Adur Art Trail, which runs concurrently with the festival. There is more for art lovers too, with the Reflections art exhibition at St Mary de Haura Church in Shoreham and a linked children’s exhibition at St Nicolas Church.

The Festival Poetry Trail (around shops and businesses in Shoreham) gets underway at the weekend, as does another series of workshops at Sompting Big Local Hub. The Hub will be open every day from 4pm to 6pm for you to make your own Food of Love for the street parties.

There is, of course, much more to see and do, so head to the festival website to take a look at the full programme.
