They are Daniel Walford (year 11), Emma Fisher (year 11), Sian Burtenshaw-Jones (year nine), Poppy Hall (year nine), and Abiola Cele (year seven).

The academy, in Kingston Lane, Shoreham, was approached by media company Fruit Media to use its students in the internet campaign.

Jo Shakespeare, head of drama, then held open auditions where 60 students were seen by the creative team.

The film was shot in the academy’s drama studio over two days with a professional crew and actor.

Jo said: “The talent that we have in the Academy is outstanding and I am so especially proud of what these students have achieved and how they conducted themselves in the most professional manner.

“They fully understood how important it was to represent the children in the film with sensitivity and respect.

“I thank J Jones and the whole team at Fruit Media and the Children’s Society for giving our children this wonderful opportunity and experience and hope that our children here will make a difference to the UK’s most vulnerable young people and urge people to make a donation or offer support.

“I am delighted also to have such a positive link to a fantastic local media company who will be working with us in the future on various projects.

“I am a firm believer that it is vital that young people get opportunities to experience the professional creative world and I am passionate that, in this way, children learn lifelong skills.”

The film was launched by the charity this week, and it was show to all the academy’s pupils during three specially-held assemblies this week.
