Lancing military veteran receives Covid-19 vaccination

A Lancing war veteran has received his first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine.

Major Ted Hunt was taken to Lancing Parish Hall on Wednesday (January 20) by The Taxi Charity for Military Veterans.

The charity arranges trips away and transport to events for military veterans and London black cabbie and volunteer Mike Hughes acted as chauffeur for Major Ted and his daughter-in-law, Linda Hunt.

Major Ted was greeted outside by the MP for East Worthing and Shoreham, Tim Loughton, who said it was ‘an honour’ to meet him.

“He said to refuse a vaccine was like crossing the road without looking both ways first – I don’t think I could put it better myself,” said Mr Loughton.

“Fantastic to meet him and to witness the brilliant hard work of everyone involved with the vaccine rollout. I’m incredibly grateful to The Taxi Charity for Military Veterans for arranging this visit for Major Ted and countless other veterans. Thank you.”
