The east wing has been left without mains power since late last night (Thursday, November 10) and is currently running on back-up power.

Supplies to all essential services have been maintained and patients on wards have not been affected by the loss of power.

Worthing Hospital are asking people with routine appointments not to attend the hospital today and not to ring the switchboard if at all possible. Anyone with an outpatient clinic appointment or a routine operation is asked not to attend their clinic today and will be contacted to rearrange their appointment as soon as possible.

EDF Energy are currently working on-site to restore mains power to the East Wing.

More information will be provided as soon as possible on the Western Sussex Hospital Trust website.
