Sussex Partnership NHS Trust needs to save £14m

Sussex Partnership NHS Trust, which tends to more than 100,000 patients every year, has said it is at “full stretch” to keep the standard of care at its best, while trying to retain financial stability.

The trust is currently modernising its services, including the Selden Centre in Selden Road, Worthing, which provides care for those with severe learning difficulties.

Other services include the Assertive Outreach and Recovery Service, in Chichester, the Bognor Community Mental Health Team, in Bognor Regis, Pepperville House, in Littlehampton, and the Adur Community Mental Health Team, in Shoreham.

Chief executive Lisa Rodrigues said: “Where we are developing services locally, we are spending money which we have saved by making planned surpluses in previous years.

“If we spend a penny more than we have budgeted on staffing, goods or services, we have to cut back elsewhere.”
