Steyning Grammar School donates 100s of supplies to NHS for Coronavirus fight

Steyning Grammar School has donated hundreds of goggles, lockers and food parcels to help support the fight against Coronavirus.

Staff from the school, which has stayed open for children of key workers, have also been driving minibuses to deliver food parcels to families during the Coronavirus lockdown.

Co-headteachers Nat Nicol and Noel Kennedy said: "We saw on the news that the NHS staff were struggling with face masks, so we decided to donate our goggles - approximately 300 - to Worthing Hospital. We also agreed to donate lockers from our Rock Road Campus - approximately 150 - to the NHS in London as they have run out of secure spaces for key staff to place their belongings in.

"At these times its important we look after and support each other as much as possible."

The grammar school recently announced it planned to join the Bohunt multi-academy trust, despite strong opposition from the National Education Union.
