Coronavirus: Number of confirmed cases in West Sussex is falling

The number of confirmed cases of coronavirus has fallen compared to last week’s figures.

There were 761 new confirmed cases of the virus in West Sussex in the week to February 16 – which was 465 less than the previous week.

More recent figures show the breakdown of new cases across different areas in the county.

Each area has seen a drop in the number of new cases.

The average area in England currently has a rate of 108 cases per 100,00 people.

Latest figures show that only two areas in the county have above average rates – Crawley and Arun.

In the week to February 18:

Adur recorded 33 new cases – 16 less than the previous week – giving the district a rate of 51 cases per 100,000 people

Arun saw 224 new cases – 27 less than the week before – giving a rate of 139 cases per 100,000 people

Worthing recorded 82 new cases – 38 less than the previous week – resulting in a rate of 74 per 100,000 people

Chichester saw 91 new cases – 64 less than the week before – giving a rate of 75 per 100,000 people

Horsham recorded 62 new cases – 76 less than the week before – resulting in a rate of 43 per 100,000 people

Crawley saw 153 new cases – 64 less than the previous week – giving a rate of 136 per 100,000 people

Mid Sussex saw 114 new cases – 13 less than the week before – giving a rate of 75 cases per 100,000 people
