School pupils '˜instrumental' in author's new book

Shoreham artist and illustrator Sue Hall visited Glebe Primary School in Southwick to share the initial draft of her first children's book '˜Betty Bee and her Busy day' with year three children.

It discusses the plight of bees and their declining population. Sue said: “The children were very helpful and gave me some good ideas to further improve my book.”

Alli Godfrey, from the school’s leadership team, added: “It was great opportunity for our children to be instrumental in the content of such a beautiful book.

“Sue felt strongly about getting the ‘very honest’ views and opinions from the children of Glebe and they were able to advise her on the strengths and tweaks needed before the book went off to the publisher.”
