Higgidy, based in Dolphin Road, has teamed up with 11 different charity initiatives and networks to deliver surplus pies, quiches, tortillas and rolls to people in Sussex through its ‘Higgidy Helping Hand’ initiative.

Founder Camilla Stephens said: “Times are tougher for everyone right now but for some, navigating day-to-day life and putting a meal on the table is more difficult than ever before.

“Higgidy’s mission is to provide glorious everyday food and help people live well and I feel like we are in a very privileged position to be able to supply food parcels to local residents who may not be in a position to buy food for themselves.

“We’re working with a range of local charities such as Brighton and Hove Food Partnership and Safehaven to make this happen.”

Higgidy hopes to continue its support of local charities, including the food redistribution charity FareShare, and aims to donate many more meals to those in need in the future.
