With Christmas around the corner, it seems shoppers are keen to get their presents as shops welcomed in customers after a month of not being able to trade - even Debenhams and Arcadia stores Topshop and Topman, all of which have gone into administration in recent days.

Reporter Elaine Hammond was in the town centre at around 11.30am this morning. She said South Street was busier than she expected: “It was really good to see the town centre so busy and with the festive market in South Street Square there was a good atmosphere.”

Montague Street appeared to be equally as bustling, and a Christmas tree was also being put up in South Street Square earlier today.

This comes as Worthing had the lowest Covid-19 rates in England between November 20 and 26.
