Take a look inside Shoreham’s new cafe – in pictures

A new cafe has opened its doors in Shoreham today (Monday, August 10).

Gourmet Dolce and Cafeteria is a new venture by Tosca restaurant in the high street. The restaurant has been split into two sections, with one side home to the restaurant and the other side hosting the new café, with a sliding glass partition between them. The cafe serves gourmet coffee, cakes and patisseries and is run by Lucience Ortega, a master cake and patisserie baker who learned the trade from her father in Brazil. Customers can expect traditional cake options such as lemon drizzle, walnut cake and victoria sponge, as well as enjoying Brazilian cakes made by Lucience. She said: ”All our cakes and pastries will be made in our kitchens and ovens, maximising their use whilst not being used for cooking lunches and dinners in the restaurant. I am a very experienced baker and have been baking for over 20 years. I take great care and skill with the creations I make and I’m hoping the guests will appreciate all the effort we put in. As well as the usual cakes, there will be the gluten/flour free options available too. We are really looking forward to becoming an integral part of the Shoreham cafe society and culture and can’t wait to welcome everyone to try our connoisseur coffee and delicious treats.” Gourmet Dolce and Cafeteria will be open every day from 10am to 6pm.
