Grade II listed Steyning B&B is up for sale – in pictures

A Grade II listed Steyning building which is currently run as boutique bed and breakfast is on the market.

The sale of Springwells House in High Street, Steyning, which has up to eleven bedrooms, four reception rooms and an outdoor swimming pool, is being handled by HJ Burt.

A spokesman said: “We feel honoured at HJ Burt to be instructed in the sale of this important Steyning property and having sold it to the current owners in recent years and who are now considering their options for a possible change in hospitality direction.

“HJ Burt also handled the sale of the property back in 1908 for the executors of the late Steyning brewer, George Gates.”

Springwells House is still open for business and will be serving lunch and evening meals from December 2, when lockdown ends.

The historic building, which is believed to be largely of Georgian origin, has previously been run as a tea room, hotel and a private house.

It has ‘great potential’ to be converted back into a large family home, according to HJ Burt.

Springwells Cottage, an adjacent Grade II listed two-bedroom cottge, is also potentially available to purchase, subject to a separate negotiation.
