JAZZ: This week at the Hare & Hounds in Portland Road Worthing we are pleased to present Mainstream Blow with Brian White and Jerry Dearden. Brian White is a Sussex jazz legend and teacher extraordinaire, Brian will bring his unique style once again to the Hare & Hounds. He has over 55 years of experience as a jazz musician, performing extensively on television and radio, and at jazz clubs and festivals nationwide. He was also a bandleader on Cunard’s Queen Elizabeth. Brian plays all the saxes, the flute and clarinet and has an impressive repertoire of mainstream standards.Jerry Dearden is playing lead guitar tonight although he would be equally at home playing the trombone or the electric bass. He has been a long time member of the Sussex Jazz Orchestra and the Paul Busby Big Band. Accompanying them tonight are Dave Beebee on piano, Godfrey Sheppard on bass and Johnny Eyden on drums.
