JAZZ: This week at the Hare & Hounds in Portland Road, Worthing, we are pleased to present The Raul D’Oliveira Latin Quintet. Raul D’Oliveira was born in Portugal and has travelled the world playing trumpet and supporting the likes of Elton John, George Michael, Sting, Cliff Richard and Gloria Gaynor. When not doing that he is playing all forms of Latin influenced jazz from Cuba and South America. Expect a fun filled evening as he is a multi-talented entertainer who not only plays both the trumpet and the flugelhorn, sometimes even on the same tune, but he also sings. He has a multitude of percussion instruments, which often get handed out to the audience, so that they can participate. He is accompanied tonight by Terry Seabrook on piano, Godfrey Sheppard on bass, Cookie Jones on conga’s and Bobby Worth on drums. Music starts at 8.30pm but, to guarantee a seat why not get there early and book a table for a meal. Call 01903 230085.

TALK: Worthing Archaeological Society lecture in the Lecture Theatre in the basement of Worthing Library. The lecture, on ‘Roman Villas in Sussex, will be presented by David Rudling, academic director at the Sussex School of Archaeology. The lecture starts at 7.30pm, with an introduction from Carlie Bradshaw at 7pm, about the their new, soon to be launched, Worthing Archaeological Society website.
