YAPTON

EVENT: The Yapton & Ford Local History Group, in conjunction with the IWM and Somme100Film, are commemorating the centenary of the Battle of the Somme with two screenings of the original film taken and released in 1916. There will be supporting talks given by Philip Robinson, local and military historian, as well as an exhibition. This will take place in the Yapton & Ford village hall between midday and 6.30pm. The talks and exhibition are free but there is a charge of £1 per ticket for the film. Places are limited for the screenings. JAZZ: This week at the Hare & Hounds in Portland Road Worthing we are pleased to present The Dave Quincy Quartet. Dave Quincy was a founder member of the 70s jazz-rock bands IF and Zzebra. He also composed many songs for these bands as well as for his latest album, Groovicity. He has a big, full-blooded tone, flowing with invention and free from gimmicks often displayed by younger musicians.
