TRIBUTE: The Smiths Indeed in Worthing

IN celebration of the 25th anniversary of the number one album Meat is Murder by The Smiths, tribute band The Smiths Indeed will play a night of the band’s greatest hits at the Assembly Hall in Worthing.

The Smiths, who were renowned for their political and controversial songs, comprised Mike Joyce, Johnny Marr, Morrissey and Andy Rourke.

Since 2005, Liverpool’s The Smiths Indeed have been reproducing the vibrance and energy of The Smiths’ live events from the mid-80s.

Belgian frontman Jürgen Wendelen aims to reproduce the sound and look of Morrissey on stage while his fellow band-members create the sounds of Marr, Rourke and Joyce.

Meat is Murder was The Smiths’ second studio album and will be performed during the concert, note for note.

The band will follow it with a greatest hits set intended for both Smiths fans craving some nostalgia and for new fans who could not see the band originally.

The Smiths Indeed will play at the Assembly Hall, in Stoke Abbott Road, on Friday, November 12.

The gig starts at 8pm and tickets cost £17.50.
