REVIEW: Lawson at the Brighton Dome

There was one place, however, which was well worth braving the icy temperatures for - the Brighton Dome where band Lawson were performing.

My sister Kirsty had suggested we go to the gig. I must admit I didn’t know much about Lawson and so didn’t really know what to expect.

With the stage set - with three old granny-style rugs placed behind three microphones with the drums on a raised area behind - I was intrigued by what was ahead.

I can confirm the rugs were not a sign we were in for a cosy, quiet night. Instead the band burst onto the stage and had the crowd rocking from start to end.

Despite not knowing many of their songs, I thoroughly enjoyed the whole concert. Every song was brilliantly performed by the four band members - Adam, Andy, Joel and Ryan.

Adam was the most enthusiastic drummer I have ever seen, clearly loving every minute of performing to his home crowd.

Andy’s vocals were perfect throughout and Ryan, bass, and Joel, lead guitar, completed the talented line-up.

As well as thrilling the crowd with their own songs, Lawson covered the catchy Don’t you Worry Child by Swedish House Mafia, which literally had the audience bouncing.

My sister had driven 70 miles in the snow to go to the concert and said it was well worth it.

Brighton Dome was the perfect setting for this wonderful show.
