Former world champion Steve Grey, the No. 1 official with leading UK matchmakers Premier Promotions, and giant 6ft 8in wrestler James Kenna, who frequently appears as the third man in the ring, have been recruited to try to keep some sort of order.

The big Easter grappling spectacular at the Worthing Assembly Hall on Monday (March 30) features a huge eight-man tag event, plus what promises to be a classic heavyweight bout when former American TNA champion Doug Williams will be one of the contestants.

It is the tag-team tournament, which will figure two semi-finals and the final guaranteed to provide an excess of mayhem and rule-bending, that has prompted the promoters to draft in more than one referee to handle the evening’s bouts.

And it is easy to see why when the line-up includes the notorious London Riots, who will be making their Worthing debuts as a team, and the rampaging Kent duo of “Hitman” Jon Ryan and the aptly-named Jimmy Havoc.

Throw in an unlikely “dream team” comprising of young wrestler of the year Josh Faulkner and “The Polish Eagle” Wolf Alexander, and the all-Sussex high-flying favourites Charlie Checkmate and Carl Brady, and the fans made need tranquillisers by the end of the evening!

Jig-sawed into the programme will be a top heavyweight match in which Williams, the multi-winning Worthing Trophy champion and current PWF international title-holder, takes on the mighty Southern Area champion Kris Kay.
