The world’s most famous renaissance art will be brought to the big screen for the first time using ultra hi-definition cameras for a detailed insight into the works of Da Vinci, Raphael, Caravaggio, Giotto and more that decorate the Sistine Chapel and the museum.

“It’s like an art-lover’s Night at the Museum, without having to put up with Owen Wilson and Ben Stiller!” said a spokesman.

“The film takes the viewer on a remarkable journey of discovery through an immense art collection built up by the Roman Catholic Church through the centuries. The director of the Vatican Museums, Professor Antonio Paolucci, guides the audience on an unforgettable tour among the world’s most renowned classical sculptures and most important Rennaissance masterpieces. The film explores classic statues from Michelangelo’s Pietà through to the modern sculptures of Fontana; paintings by Leonardo di Vinci, Caravaggio, Van Gogh, Giotto and Dalì; and astonishing frescoes from Raphael’s The School of Athens to Michelangelo’s iconic Creation of Adam and the majestic Last Judgment in the Sistine Chapel.

“The film gives the viewer unparalleled access to one of the most visited museums in the world.”
