Mr Chapman said: “The model car racing is certainly great fun, but the most worthwhile thing about it is the way it brings families together with mums, dads and the young people mixing in together and having a good time.”

The first event of 2011 will be a Formula One event with more than 20 racers expected to compete for two medals 0150 one for the overall winner and the other for the highest-placed junior racer.

Doors open at 6.30pm. Racing starts at 7pm and finishes by 9pm.
