Spokesman Des O’Byrne said: “Patsy played fiddle in top Scottish band Breabach and has played alongside the greats of contemporary folk music. However, there was always a part of her that was unfulfilled until she decided to express her ideas and thoughts through her own compositions. A few years ago, the Patsy Reid Band was born. The band played at the Celtic Connections Festival in Glasgow in January 2015 and made a real impact.

“Patsy has performed extensively with BBC Radio 2 Folk Award 2013 winners Kathryn Tickell and Kathryn Roberts and Sean Lakeman, The Cecil Sharp Project and Zakir Hussain’s Pulse of the World. She also contributed violin, viola and cello to albums by Donald Shaw, Duncan Chisholm, Bella Hardy, Treacherous Orchestra, Tim Edey and Luke Daniels, to name just a few. Now Patsy takes centre stage, accompanied by an equally accomplished band, to bring us tunes and songs from her highly-acclaimed new album, The Brightest Path. This, her first solo recording since 2008’s rapturously-received Bridging The Gap, features freshly-recovered traditional Scottish melodies alongside self-penned and contemporary material that demonstrates Patsy’s ability to virtually sing through her instrument.”

Support: Gareth Lee and Annie Baylis, two young musicians from Cornwall. Tickets from Des on 01428 607096
