Halt term activities in Fishbourne

THE Roman Army will be marching into Fishbourne to take part in a whole host of half-term activities.

Participants can practice their spear technique, get an army tattoo, eat Roman food, and dress up like Romans as part of the activities from October 25-29.

There are other skills on offer at the Fishbourne museum – including archery and sword practice.

To mark its anniversary, the palace, in Salthill Road, has a unique exhibition on show until December 15, revealing the people behind one of Britain’s greatest archaeological finds.

Rare records and photographs from the 1960s reveal a fascinating insight into life on Britain’s largest dig of its time.

Museum director Christine Medlock said: “Half-term is a perfect time to visit the palace. Youngsters can have fun and let off steam as well as visiting our fascinating exhibition where you can learn more about the people who helped uncover this amazing place during the 1960s.”

Normal admission charges apply.

Activities run from 10am to 4pm Monday-Friday. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Please be aware that some activities are weather dependent.
