With the show coming to an end this evening (Friday, December 4), the celebrities can look forward to the prospect of enjoying a delivery of 'Britain's best pies' after their ordeal in the castle.

The ITV show has taken place in a castle in Wales, this year, due to Covid-19 restrictions preventing the stars from travelling to Australia.

This meant the opportunity arose for family-run bakery Turner's Pies, which was founded in Bognor Regis, to 'get its Pies by Post service into action'.

Managing director, Phil Turner, who sent an award-winning pie to Her Majesty the Queen at Buckingham Palace last year, says the pies can also be enjoyed by the hosts Ant and Dec.

Phil, who oversees stores in Chichester, Bognor, Rustington and Worthing, said: "We love the show and we have always spoken about how much the celebrities go through because of the hunger they endure. Surely the best way to celebrate coming out of the castle is to tuck into some of the best pies in the country.

“Ant and Dec must love their pies and there are no better pies in the country so we hope they enjoy them.

"Our Pies by Post service delivers throughout the United Kingdom and so arranging a delivery was very straightforward. Hopefully the pies reach the stars and they can taste for themselves the amazing products we make."

The bakery scooped the top award at the British Pie Awards for the second time this year when a top rump steak and Stilton pie beat off competition from nearly 850 other pies to be named 'supreme champion' – the same award the firm's steak and ale pie won in 2018.

British Pie Awards organiser Dr Matthew O’Callaghan, speaking of the winning entry in the British Pie Awards earlier this year, said: “Turner’s Pies certainly know how to make an excellent pie. They won Supreme Champion in 2018 with their steak and ale pie and they’ve done it again, but this time with Stilton cheese.

“Cheese in pies was a winning formula this year, appearing in five winning classes. Besides winning the Supreme Champion, or ‘Pie of Pies’ title, Turner’s also won three highly commended awards, three golds, four silvers and two bronzes. With their record, they are indisputably Britain’s Best Pie Maker.”
