ARTS: The Aesthetic Movement in Steyning
STEYNING Decorative and Fine Arts Society will present Peter Darty’s lecture, The Aesthetic Movement, tomorrow (Monday, May 9).
In a short period between 1870 and 1900, fashionable taste reacted against Victorian clutter and accepted the stage setting for the arts and crafts era and, later, art nouveau. All this will be explored in Mr Darty’s illustrated lecture.
The lecture begins at 10.45am, with coffee from 10am and business from 10.30am. Visitors are welcome for a donation of £5.
The lecture will be held at the Steyning Centre, in Fletcher’s Croft, Steyning.
