After a cancellation and an online exhibition, Alison Tyldesley and Diane Bailey are finally going live with their exhibition for real – from August 18-23 at Colonnade House. Both artists live in Worthing.

Alison said: “Now lockdown restrictions have been eased we hope to give people an exciting but safe experience. This is a show that promises to be bold, bright, intuitive and engaging. Two newcomers to Worthing with established reputations as artists have formed an artistic partnership to exhibit their work together.”

The paintings reveal complementary views of the natural world. Alison’s spacious semi-abstract landscape paintings will partner Diane’s close-up and sympathetic wildlife pieces. Moody seascapes and sunlit hills will sit alongside bright-eyed birds and curious mammals. The artists have recently relocated from Yorkshire and Dartmoor respectively bringing strong reputations with them. Both have studios at Colonnade House where they met, made friends and shared their love of paint and nature. This is the first chance to see a substantial number of their works gathered together in Worthing.

Alison has exhibited successfully both nationally and internationally and her work is in private collections in New York, Hong Kong, Singapore and across the UK. She has a degree in fine art from Exeter. Diane is a BBC Wildlife Artist of the Year winner with work selected by national academies. She studied zoology before gaining a degree in art and design, worked for conservation organisations and has travelled the world several times.

Alison said: “We feel really privileged to have studios in Colonnade House in the heart of Worthing. It is such a wonderful and welcoming town.”
