They are students from Greater Brighton Met College and Northbrook Met College.

Lucy said: “We are a group of Foundation students from The MET colleges. Sadly the last few months our end-of-year show was cancelled due to coronavirus. But the Oxmarket has provided us with the opportunity to showcase what we’ve achieved in lockdown.

“We think it’s a great example of what students can produce despite circumstances and to encourage the arts, for both young people wanting to study creative subjects and those who wish to explore the arts when the situation currently seems uncertain.

“The artists being showcased are a varied mix of styles ranging from portraiture, to the abstract figurative, landscapes and 3D works. Our backgrounds include Chichester High School and sixth form, The Towers, Varndean, Dorothy Stringer and BHASVIC, but are similar in our experience of the past year at the Brighton Met where we all achieved diplomas this year.

“Some of us have exhibited previously at 35 Gallery North in the North Laines, Brighton, and are progressing onwards to a mix of Leicester DMU, Glasgow School of Art and University Arts, London. We are all extremely passionate about the arts”.

“Some will be for sale, and lots more examples of our work can be seen on our instagrams: @elliebirdart; @looseymakesart; @jsa.art; and @meredithrowan_”
