Spokesman Malcolm Farquharson said: “Make a junk model inspired by Arundel. See what you can create around the theme of Arundel. It does not have to be an exact replica! You could make a castle, a church, a museum, or even a town model! Your imagination is the limit. See what you can create using materials from your own home. Recycle and create.”

Closing date: 5pm, Tuesday, September 1.

First Prize: a family free entry to the museum and a £10 museum shop voucher.

Runner-up: a family free entry to the museum and a £5 museum shop voucher.

There are two categories: five to eight-year-olds and nine to 12-year-olds.

“Make your model, take a photo of it, and ask your parent/guardian to email it to [email protected]. Please keep your model in case we want to display it, if you can.

“Please include your first name and age, and a brief description with title, of what you have created, how and why you chose to make it.”
