WORTHING RAIDERS Rugby Club touched down three tries in the final seven minutes to record their first victory in the National League on Saturday (October 4).
Raiders trailed Chinnor 20-13 when Richard Kaye's try was converted by Ben Coulson on 73 minutes.
Will Marshall then touched down wide out left two minutes later to give Worthing a 25-20 lead. Coulson was then just wide with the conversion attempt
but Raiders sealed their win with two minutes to go.
Will Harris went over and Coulson added the two extra points.
In the first half, Raiders were playing uphill against a strong wind but still managed to go ahead after just two minutes when Paul Cox touched down.
Chinnor responded with two penalties, a try and a conversion to move 13-5 ahead before Charlie McGowan's try made the half-time score 13-10.
A converted Chinnor try put the home side 20-10 ahead early in the second half, before Coulson kicked a penalty to make it 20-13 on 54 minutes.
Raiders then sealed their win with three late tries to take home the maximum five points.
Team manager David Hinchcliffe said: "It's good to break the duck and get our first win.
"There are a lot of happy faces sat on the bus on the way home, and this will be a real confidence-booster.
"When we were first promoted into London 1, we lost our first four or five league games because it was a big learning curve.
"We finished mid-table that season, and we'd like to do that this year."
