AN injury-time converted Dings Crusaders try denied Worthing Raiders Rugby Club just their second National League 3 South victory of the season on Saturday (November 29).
The try came in the 10th-minute of injury-time and the conversion which followed made the final score 13-13.
But Raiders took two points from the game and are now level on points with third-bottom Chinnor, who became the first side to lost to bott
om-of-the-table Havant on Saturday (24-13).
Raiders had led 13-0 at half-time against Dings. Ben Coulson kicked a penalty to give Worthing a fourth-minute lead, and Joe Govett kicked a drop goal six minutes later to make it 6-0.
Charlie McGowan added a touchdown on 34 minutes, which Coulson converted, to make it 13-0.
Dings kicked penalties in the 55th and 67th minutes to get the score back to 13-6, before their late try denied Raiders victory.
Worthing team manager David Hinchcliffe said: "We got two points for the draw, which at breakfast time we would have taken.
"But it was a big disappointment to only draw.
"However, we played much better and deserved to win against a strong side in the top half of the table."
